A Glimpse of Richmond Hill Township

Richmond Hill is a densely populated town in southern York region of Ontario. The town is known for its scenic beauty and socio-cultural landscape. Richmond Hill offers a luxurious life filled with fun and play. This town offers numerous job and business opportunities along with a very high standard of living. The town forms an important business part of the Greater Toronto Area with proximity to Toronto.


Geography of Richmond Hill

Richmond Hill is uniquely positioned. The southern area of Richmond Hill is a bit more densely populated than northern commercially-rich landscape. Richmond Hill is bounded by Bloomington Road going to the north, Bathurst Street west, Markham city limit going east. Richmond Hill has a fair advantage as it is at an elevated level than other communities within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and with exclusion of areas closely alongside its borders, the constituent of York region with the greatest height above sea level. The GTA is a place that attracts job seekers, college students, professionals, and industry people.

Cultural influence at Richmond Hill

A truly multi-cultural town, it has inspirations ranging from countryside living, heritage buildings to fast-paced younger generations and retirement homes. Toronto’s culture is represented by Richmond Hill. You can see plays being staged almost at regular basis especially during summer. Art is enjoyed a lot by people here; you can attend Toronto Art Crawl and many other art shows and exhibitions at Toronto's Entertainment District. The Food Truck Festival is enthusiastically celebrated along with other activities such as Toronto RibFest, Yorkville Music Festival, Waterfront Ports Toronto Festival, and the Beaches International Jazz Festival. Education in Richmond Hill

Education is considered paramount in Richmond Hill. The town is part of the York Region School Board and offers 30 plus elementary schools, and 5 secondary schools.  Students in schools are taught by application based methods including lab practical, use of videos, field trips, and games. Since 2001, students have been performing above average in mathematics and other science disciplines. There are also three private primary schools located in Richmond Hill along with four private secondary schools.

Richmond Hill Library



Richmond Hill Library is located at new Masonic Hall on Yonge Street. The library was formed way back in 1852 and has more than 5000 books. Individuals who live, work, study or pay land taxes in the town of Richmond Hill, or in the communities within Richmond Hill do not have to pay library fees and can use it whenever they want. The library offers various facilities including: Wi-Fi Access, Computer Access, Business Resources, Job/Career Resources and e-book resources.

Richmond Hill has many dining areas and eateries. World class cuisine is available in every restaurant. There are various sources of entertainment as well, such as sports, social activities, seeing movies, or romantic evenings. The area surrounding Observatory Hill offers some of the best entertainment options in the GTA. There are many malls such as Hillcrest Mall. Located at the northwest corner of Yonge Street and Carrville Road, this mall has many outlets of all brands and movie theaters.

David Dunlap Observatory : Major Landmark



Many people are drawn towards David Dunlap Observatory as it has the largest reflecting telescope in Canada. It showcases Canada’s strength in research and its inherent culture of learning. For most folks, including international visitors, David Dunlap Observatory is a world heritage site.
